Samsung Galaxy S8 Price and Release Date Tipped in New Leak

According to the source, @Ricciolo1, the Galaxy S8 will launch on March 29th, to be exact, and is allegedly scheduled to become available from the week beginning April 24th with a hefty price tag of around $849. This ties up nicely with a previous rumour saying the new handset would be released in April. The tweet also says that Samsung will, in fact, be present at MWC, but that the Galaxy S8 will not be unveiled to the general public. Instead, it’s believed that the new model will be shown off to a small selection of media outlets.

Twitter tipster Ricciolo claims that a 'little birdy' has let out that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is 'ready'. It will be unveiled to a select audience, including journalists, at MWC 2017, well-guarded from the general public. Consumers will have to wait till March 29 for the official Galaxy S8 launch. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and its bigger sibling Galaxy S8 Plus will be released in late April, according to the tipster.

Ricciolo also said in the tweet that Samsung has set the Galaxy S8 price as EUR 849 (roughly Rs. 61,700), making it more expensive than last year's premium Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge variant. The larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be priced at a whopping EUR 949 (roughly Rs. 69,000). This is in line with previous rumours that Samsung will price the two upcoming smartphones a little higher than the 2016 flagships. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were launched at EUR 700 (roughly Rs. 50,900) and EUR 800 (roughly Rs. 58,100) respectively.
